Properties and Applications of Nanostructured Ceramic Coatings

  • Due to the considerable decrease in grain size of nanostructured ceramic coatings,the grains disperse more uniformly,and the number of grain boundary also increase significantly.As a result,the properties of nanostructured ceramic coatings,including hardness,toughness,wear resistance,bonding strength,corrosion resistance and density may be improved obviously as compared with microstructured ceramic coatings.The nanostructured ceramic coatings have thus been widely used in many fields such as aerospace,shipbuilding,chemical industries and so on.This paper will introduce the properties and application of nanostructured ceramic coating in detail.
