Wear Resistance of Overlaying Fe-Cr-C-B Alloy

  • Overlaying welding was adopted on low carbon steel surface with high-carbon ferrochrome and iron boron powder.The effect of Cr,C content on the wear resistance of Fe-Cr-C-B overlaying alloy was investigated.The results show that with the chromium and carbon content increases,the wear weight loss decreased,and abrasion increased.When the chromium content is 31.67%,carbon content is 3.82% and boron content is 0.4%,the wear weight loss is minimum.Boron has a great impact on the wear resistance of the Fe-Cr-C-B overlaying alloy.Boron-containing alloy with B content equivalent to C content enhances wear resistance 1 times than non-boron alloy.
