Development of a Agglomerated Flux for Stainless Steel Submerged Arc Welding

Adopting slag system CaF₂-Al₂O₃-CaSiO₃ with basicity 1.7-2.3,a kind of agglomerated flux for submerged arc welding of stainless steel has been developed.Matched with stainless steel wire H00Cr21Ni10,the agglomerated flux showed excellent welding process performance such as good arc stability,good slag detachability and good weld appearance.The agglomerated flux also has good metallurgy capability.Because there is little alloy elements to be burned and little impurity elements to be mixed with in the deposited metal,the deposited metal also has good mechanical properties and good intergranular corrosion resistance.
