Abstract
A two-dimensional model of thermal barrier coatings was established and the influence of the interface morphology on the residual stress distribution was calculated by means of the finite element software ABAQUS.The results showed that the σ22 tensile stress concentrated mainly at the wave crest of the thermall grown oxide layer and bond coat. With the growth of thermally grown oxide, wavelength became smaller, amplitude became larger, and the tensile stress σ22 became higher with the maximum lying in the peak of thermal oxide layer / bond coat interface.
