Defects and Process Control in Production of Copper-Nickel Alloy Ingot Casting

  • The common defects of copper-nickel alloy ingots include segregation,porosity,crack,shrinkage,porosity,cold shuts,stream claw and so on.The defects of ingot in different process conditions are compared and the influence of casting temperature,casting speed and cooling water pressure on the casting quality are discussed.The cause of the casting defects and their effects on the properties of cupronicke ingot are analyzed and the common technical measures to prevent these defects and process methods are introduced.The suitable process parameters for industrial production are developed.
