Analysis on the Crack of 50Mn18Cr5 Protective Ring

  • Chemical composition,mechanical properties,fracture and metallographic analysis were conducted to analyze the crack in the 50Mn18Cr5 protective ring.The results show that work-hardening of inner surface of the protective ring causes intercrystalline cracks,bad material structure brings about crack extention,and these lead to the fracture of the protectivering under circumferential tension stess as hydraulic bulging.
