Study Progress in Mechanical Properties and Energy Absorption Characteristic of Aluminum Foams

  • The recent achievements in mechanical properties and energy absorption characteristic of aluminum foams are summarized in this article.Firstly,the technology of experimental measurement of mechanical properties of aluminum foams is described and the dynamic compress experimental measuring methods and technology are analyzed in detail.Secondly,the relevant study results in the influence of strain rate,relative density,cell size and cell shape on mechanical properties of aluminum foams are summarized.Finally,the application prospect in energy absorption and engineering of aluminum foams is forecasted.
