Effect of the Different Weld Method on Stress and Deformations of TA2 Weld

Abstract
In this paper, the effect of heat inputs on the deformation of TA2 weld was investigated adopting the procedures of GTAW welding, MIG welding and CMT cold arc welding. The test indicates that CMT cold arc welding contributes the minimum welding deformation, which is just 65.5% of the GTAW welding deformation, while welding energy input has impact on residual stress of welding. The residual stress of the welding of traditional GTAW weld is higher than that of MIG weld, and MIG weld is higher than CMT weld. The residual stress of CMT weld is just 40% of that of GTAW weld.
