Investigation of Several Common Methods for Asbestos Detection

Asbestos fibers may attach to lung and deposit on it when they are breathed into body, and can cause illness, so it has been forbidden in ship in many states. There are many methods to identify asbestos in commercial materials, such as PLM, XRD, SEM, TEM, etc. This article analyzes the characteristics of four asbestos detecting methods by comparing the results of five specimens. Furthermore, in order to ensure the veracity of the conclusion, it is recommended that at least two different methods should be used for asbestos detecting.
