Research of Acrylic /Epoxy Resin Self-stratification

Hansen solubility parameters of polymers are tested by dissolved matching method and self-stratification of acrylic/epoxy were characterized by means of FTIR-ATR, SEM and EMAX-EDS. Adhesion strength of self-statifying varnish coatings on epoxy primer also studied. Resultsshow that the self-stratifying coatings forms when the difference Δδ of acrylic and epoxy Hansen solubility parameters is more than 1. 7, and the adhesion strength on epoxy primer is 2. 0MPa above.
