Study on Structure and Properties of Zirconium R60702 on GTAW Welding Joint

  • R60702 zirconium plates with thickness of 8.8mm had been welded by GTAW Method. The micro-structure and properties of welding joints have been analysed. The results showed that the quality of obtained joints through GTAW welding method can reach the gradeⅠ of RT, alloy elements and impurity contents in welding line could be controlled properly;joints rigidity values were distributing uniformly tensility, bendness and impact tests have been carried out and proved excellent. Especially in microstructure, they were similer to pure titanium alloy and three were no precipitated phase.
