Research and Application of Tie-coatings For the Release Antifouling Paints

The adhesive strength of the silicone epoxy tie coatings with anticorrosive primer and release antifouling were studied.XPS was used to characterized the chemical reaction of the tie coatings with anticorrosive primer, adhesion strength, resistance to sea water immersion were also investigated. The results showed that the silicone epoxy tie coating can take place reaction by Si-O-C bonds with anti corrosive primer, the optimum reaction conditions were also determined. When the accelerator dosage reached to 6.0%, the tie coating has the best adhesive strength for release antifouling coating.
