Preparation of Fluorine Modified Acrylic Anti-iceing Coating

  • This paper described the development of a fluorine modified acrylic anti-icing coating with low surface energy which can be applied on offshore platforms.The hydrophobic properties of the coating was improved by the roughened coating surface microstructure,which was formed through the screening of resin binders,the intertwining of nano and micron fillers,and the padding of needle-like whiskers.Performance test results show that,freshwater optical contact angle on the developed anti-ice coating surface can reach 127 ° or above,so the coating possesses a good hydrophobicity.The ice adhesion properties of the coating surface was only about a third of the conventional fluorocarbon paint,therefore coating exhibits a good de-icing property.
