Effect of Yield Strength of Titanium on the Bonding Performance of Large Area Titanium-Steel Cladding Plate

  • Through the finite element simulation analysis and verification of explosive welding test,the relationship between yield strength of titanium and the bonding performance of titanium-steel cladding plate with large area was studied. The results showed that the plastic distortion of the titanium layer is the main factor to produce the fold- type unbonding under high temperature and high pressure of explosive welding. Keeping the yield strength of the titanium at a low level can improve the plastic strain behavior of titanium in explosive welding,which is beneficial to getting a good bonding performance.
