Research Progresses on Surface Nitriding Technologies of Titanium Alloy

  • The surface treatment technologies,adopted in recent years to improve the wear resistence of Ti and titanium alloy by preparing titanium nitride film on the surface of titanium alloy,were summarized. Three kinds of nitriding methods including gas nitriding,liquid nitriding and ion nitriding were introduced,and the structure,performance characteristics and the application range of the modified surface layer resulted by each process were discussed respectively.
