Abstract
Nanodots of poly(hydroxyl-functionalized EDOT)(PEDOT-OH) were fabricated via a template-free electrochemical assembly at a constant potential. The effects of oxidation potential, deposition time, distance between counter electrode and the working electrode on the structures and morphologies of PEDOT-OH nanodots were further investigated. It is clarified that the sizes of PEDOT dots increase with the increase of the deposition time and oxidation potential, but decrease otherwise. Among them, the deposition time plays a more crucial role on the PEDOT-OH morphology. The hydrophilicity of PEDOT-OH substrate is enhanced sharply as the dot size increases from nanometer to micrometer. It is further demonstrated that the normalized cathode charge storage capability(CSCc) for the nanodot PEDOT-OH is 2—3 times higher than that of smooth PEDOT-OH.
