Analysis of Extrusion Processing of Automobile Piston Rod Based on Deform

  • Finite element analysis software Deform was used to simulate the extrusion process of the piston rod, and effect of blank thicknesses, die angles and friction coefficients on the forming force and the final height of the billet were investigated, so was the effect of solid billets on the mould cavity forming force. The simulation results show that the larger the angle is, the smaller the resistance and the forming force will be; when the friction coefficient is proper, the billet will along to flow into a maoulld cavity smoothly. The forming force of the material will be affected by the hardness of the billet, and the greater the hardnessis, the greater the need for forming force is.
