Abstract
The effect of weld toe by TIG dressing on the fatigue behavior of T-joint of titanium alloy was investigated.The results indicated that the residual stress of the T-joint had a reduction of 32% after TIG dressing and spray chilling.The fatigue strength of the T-joint after TIG dressing and spray chilling was 4 times higher than that of the original when the fatigue cycles were 2×105.The fatigue life has an increase of 330% after TIG dressing and spray chilling when the stress was 260 MPa.After TIG dressing and spray chilling and stress relieving by ultrasonic treatment, the fatigue life had an 9.9 times increase, which was longer than that when the methods were used alone.
