5% (mole fraction) yttria-stabilized zirconia solid electrolyte was prepared from granulated powders by isostatic pressing and high temperature sinistering, and its mechanical, thermodynamic and electrochemical properties were investigated. The results showed that when the sintering temperature was 1 500℃ and the holding time 2 hrs, the grains of the product were uniform, the grain boundaries were clear, the density of product was high and its thermal shock resistance was good.
