Feasibility Analysis of I1 Fracture Criterion on Isotropy Homogeneous Material

  • Elastic-plastic finite element simulation was conducted on isotropy homogeneous round bar, and the fracture characteristics of center crack body with plain stress and plain strain condition and of penetrating center crack finite size plate under axial tension were analyzed based on I1 fracture criterion.Resultsshowed there was good consistence between simulation results and experimental results, indicating that I1 fracture criterion could be used to describe fracture behavior of complete and defected isotropy homogeneous materials.
