Development of Wide Width Slab of Titanium Steel Combined with Low Cost TC4 Titanium Alloy EB Casting Slab

  • 46 mm×2 650 mm× 8 700 mm specification and low cost wide width TC4 titanium alloy plate was developed by adoting the technique of “EB billet + 4 200 mm wide width rolling mill of steel mill” and combining the advantage of short process and low cost of EB billet with the advantages of wide width rolling mill and supporting equipment of steel mill. Compared with the traditional “VAR forging stock + titanium mill factory” technique, the technique can save large size slab high titanium alloy forging and the grinding cost and produce plates of larger size and have higher feed rate, so to significantly shorten the process flow, improve the production efficiency, and significantly reduce manufacturing costs.
