Performance Design and Prediction of Solid Buoyancy Material

  • Based on the preparation experiment of solid buoyancy materials, a precise design method for the density of solid buoyancy materials is proposed by introducing the process influence factors of raw materials. The Turesanyi equation is corrected by combining the volume fraction of micro bead filling process by the density design method and the experimental testing. The density design and compressive strength prediction models are validated through experiments on the preparation of buoyancy materials with different resin matrices. It is found out that introducing process influence factors to correct the true densities of the resin matrices and glass microspheres can effectively reduce the error between the design and experimental values. By modifying the Turesanyi equation, a high degree of consistency in strength prediction can be achieved for solid buoyancy materials with a volume fraction of 60%-70% of microspheres.
