Research Progress on Influence of Process Conditions on Corrosion Resistance of High-entropy Alloys

  • High-entropy alloys exhibit exceptional corrosion resistance due to their unique slow diffusion effect and high-entropy effect. It has drawn attention in the corrosion resistance field to use high-entropy alloys as coatings or films on the surfaces of less corrosion-resistant materials to improve their corrosion resistances. In this study, the changes of self corrosion potential, self corrosion current density and resistance are revivewed, the effects of process conditions on the microstructure and corrosion resistance of high-entropy alloys are reviewed, including the various preparation processes and parameter differences, heat treatment, and processing methods, and the future corrosion resistance researches for high-entropy alloys are outlooked.
