Cobalt Sulfides-MOF Modified Cathode and its Electrochemical Property in Marine Sediment Microbial Fuel Cell

  • Cathode modification of marine sediment microbial fuel cell(MSMFC) is an important way to increase its output power. As an effective catalyst for oxygen reduction reaction, cobalt sulfides-MOF can enhance cathode and cell electrochemical properties. Here is investigated the cobalt sulfides-MOF modified MSMFC cathode and the electrochemistry properties.Resultsindicate that cobalt sulfides-MOF modified cathode has good anti-polarization performance, highest reaction kinetic activity and highest output power. Its exchange current density reaches 11.11 mA/m2, which is 2.14 times of that of the carbon felt cathode. Its highest output power reaches 8.27 mW/m2, about five times of that of the plain carbon felt cathode.
