Study on Mechanical Behavior of Titanium Alloy with Low Cost and Short Process

  • With the widespread applications of titanium alloys in fields as aerospace and shipbuilding, optimizing material properties and achieving process optimization and cost control has become a key focus of current research. In this study, the mechanical properties and microstructural characteristics of low-cost short-process titanium alloy sheets are systematically investigated, and the fatigue crack propagation behavior under varying environmental conditions and fatigue performance under different loading scenarios of Ti6411 titanium alloy are focused on. The results indicate that erosion promotes the initiation of cracks, leading to a higher fatigue crack growth rate in artificial seawater than that in the air. Furthermore, when △K<22 MPa·m1/2, the fatigue crack growth rate in the LT direction is higher than that in the TL direction. In addition, due to the strong texture orientation induced by the rolling process, the deformation compatibility is improved, and the low-cycle strain tolerance and high-cycle load-bearing capacity in the rolling direction are superior to those in the transverse direction.
