Abstract: The self-tapping screw, made of 0Cr18Ni9 austenitic stainless steel,with good anticorrosiveness,high tensile strenth,has been developed.The self-tapping screw treated by pre cold drawing and aging processes has high strength of ~800MPa,high surface hardness of HV_0.3 450 and center hardness of HV_0.3 380. The screw is able to screw into steels, stainless steels or other alloys without pre-tapping,and can be found wide use in sections such as ship building, petrochemical industry,household appliances.
