Design of Ti6Al4V-TiN Gradient Materials

  • In order to increase the adhesive strength between the Ti6Al4V and TiN, the gradient material of Ti6Al4V-TiN was designed with the method of Finite Element Analyze (FEA), and the effects of different parameters on the thermal stress distribution were studied. The results show that the best parameters for the minimum thermal stress are the volume distribution parameter (n) of 1.8, the number of the coatings (N) of 10, and the total thickness of coatings of 15μm.
