Analysis on Friction and Wear Performance of Nickel Aluminum Bronze Alloy BAl7-7-2-2

  • The microstructure, hardness, tensile properties, impact toughness and friction-wear performances of nickel aluminum bronze alloy (BAl7-7-2-2) before and after heat treatment were analyzed. The microstructure of BA17-7-2-2 heat treated recrystalized and refined, and the precipitates of κ phase decreased, resulting in reduced hardness and strength and increased impact toughness. The friction coefficient of BAl7-7-2-2 alloy was lower than that of QAl9-4, and the friction coefficient of BAl7-7-2-2alloy after heat treatment was lower than that of the original one, demonstrating an excellent performance of antifriction. The wear rate of BAl7-7-2-2 alloy was higher than that of QAl9-4 alloy, while the wear rate of BAl7-7-2-2 alloy after heat treatment was reduced, the width and depth of grinding crack became narrower and shallower than those of BAl7-7-2-2, and its wear resistance was improved to the level of that of QAl9-4 alloy.
