Influence of Sn and Zn Elements on Corrosion Behavior of Copper

  • The deoxidization electric current method was adopted to determine the influence of Sn and Zn elements on the corrosion behavior of copper in the weak acid(pH=6) and weak basic(pH=8) solutions. The results showed that a compact and stable protective film was formed on the surface of the copper alloy with 5% Sn in the weak acid solution, which improved the corrosive resistance of copper, while in the weak basic solution, the effect of both Sn and Zn was negligible.
