Abstract
Hybrid coatings doped with hydroxylated multi-wall carbon nanotubes deriving from TEOS were prepared using sol-gel method.Electrochemical research methods were applied to investigate their electrochemical corrosion performance under various conditions.Resultsshowed that the performance of coatings were significantly impacted by thermal treatment temperature. The methods of introducing carbon nanotubes into coatings affect the properties of the coatings strongly. When subjected to gridding carbon nanotubes with KH-550 ethanol solution, carbon nanotubes were well-dispersed in Si-based sols.Wherein, the thermal treatment temperature was the most important factor. The coating treated at 160℃ exhibited the optimum protection to aluminum alloy substrates.
