The Corrosion Resistance of Titanium and its Alloy

  • High strength-to-density ratios and corrosion resistance of titanium and its alloys making these materials attractive in various industrial applications.This paper reviewed the influence of pH,temperature,fluoride and hydrogen absorption on corrosion resistance of titanium and its alloys.The characteristics and mechanism of stress corrosion cracking,hydrogen-induced cracking,crevice corrosion,galvanic corrosion and pitting corrosion were also summarized.In addition,the corrosion behavior of the materials in aerospace,marine and brine environment,biomedical were introduced.
