Preparation of Waterborne Epoxy Curing Agent and Its Effect on Properties of Film

  • The modified polyaspartic acid-amine-epoxy comb polymer was prepared from graft modification of the epoxy E-44 modified triethylenetetramine adduct onto modified polyaspartic acid, which was then mixed with the epoxy-amine adduct and terminated with butyl glycidyl ether partially, finally emulsified to be nonionic waterborne epoxy curing agent.Effect of different graft rate, graft percent of total adduct and the proportion of terminated primary amine on the properties of the agent and the film were studied, the properties of the self-synthesized agent were compared with that of commercial waterborne curing agents.Consequently, when the graft rate of amine adduct was 20% and the percent of terminated primary amine of 10% grafted P1 of the curing agent was 25%, the stability of the agent is well, the flexibility and impact resistance of the curing epoxy film were largely improved compared with other waterbone curing agents on sale.
