Several synthetic methods and some influence parameters are discussed for the production of BaTiO3 nanometer powder．The advantage and shortcoming of the above methods are compared．The BaTiO3 particles obtained by the sol-gel method exhibits fine particle size and narrow size distribution,and it could be concluded that this approach will have a promised prospect in future industrial application．
