Numerical Simulation Research on the Process of Hot Neck-spining Formation for the Seamless Cylinder

  • The process of hot neck-spining formation for the seamless cylinder is simulated by the FEM software ABAQUS to analyse the influences of different processing parameters on hot neck-spining of cylinder.The results show that during the process of hot neck-spining formation for the cylinder, (ⅰ) the minimum wall thickness at the start point of spining becomes thiner and the maximum wall thickness at cylinder shoulder becomes thicker with the spining temperature rising and feed ratio increasing; (ⅱ) the maximum equivalent stress decreases and the maximum equivalent strain increases with the spinning temperature rising; (ⅲ) the maximum equivalent stress and the maximum equivaclent strain increase slightly with the feed ratio increasing; (ⅳ) spining force decreases with temperature increasing and feed ratio decreasing.
