  • Instrumented indentation technique was first used to test the hardness of materials. And now the instrumented indentation technique (IIT) can also be used for testing the mechanical properties of the materials of the facilities, such as tensile properties, residual stress. A new indentation device developed can be performed on in-service equipment because of their non-destructive, quickly and accurately, thus can be used for in-service equipment evaluation.
