Abstract
Based on the mechanism of rail corrugation generation and development— “the difference of wheel and rail receptance and its variation”, the effects of rail deflection and vibration in the lateral direction to the rail corrugation development have been studied. It is concluded that one of the key means to slow down the corrugation growth is to reduce the difference of wheelrail receptance and control the rail lateral vibration level.
