Significantly Enhanced Adhesion of Poly(3,4-ethylene eioxythiophene)(PEDOT) to Electrodes by Hydroxyl-Functionalized PEDOT Interfacial Layer

  • Tape testing and ultrasonic testing were employed to evalutate the adhesion of a series of poly (3, 4-ethylene dioxythiophene) (PEDOTs) in dry and wet conditions.Resultsshowed that hydroxy-functional PEDOT (PEDOT-OH) had the strongest bonding to electrodes in both dry and wet conditions. With PEDOT-OH as an interfacial layer, the adhesion of PEDOT to electrode substrates could be greatly enhanced, so was the stability of current stimulation.
