  • TiB2/Al2O3 composite was produced by self-propagating high temperature combustion synthesis.XRD and SEM examination indicated that most particles of TiB2 in the Al2O3 matrix are fine and regular rectanglar crystals,while some of them are dendritic and rodlike crystals.The grain size of Al2O3 is bigger than that of TiB2 and the shape of Al2O3 grains is irregular.The fracture of Al2O3 is lamellar and both Al2O3 and TiB2 present some coagulation.
