Abstract
A novel polyaniline-camphorsulfonic acid(PANI-(D-CSA)) composite anode was prepared. The component ratio and electrochemical behavior of the composite anode in benthic microbial fuel cells(BMFC) were investigated.X-ray diffraction(XRD) and thermogravimetric analysis(TGA) of the PANI-(D-CSA) indicates that it contains crystallinity to a certain extent and is thermal stable.Electrochemical test indicates that when mass fraction of PANI-(D-CSA) in composite anode is 50%,the composite anode exhibits the lowest internal resistance and slope of the anode polarization curve.BMFC with the composite anode presents a 3.7-fold power output(233.9 mW/m2) compared with BMFC by using plain graphite anode. This composite anode thus has great potential in high-power BMFC.
