Testing and Theoretical Exploration on Rail Corrugation

  • Rail corrugation of Guangzhou,Chengdu,Shanghai,Nanjing and other city's metro lines were tested to analyze the occurrence mechanism of the rail corrugation from aspects of line conditions and fastener type.Test data show that causes the rail corrugation are complex and the corrugation mostly happened in low rail in the curve with rail damping system.The line conditions have more effect than fastener types on rail corrugation according to corresponding hammering tests.Meanwhile,the data show that the rail with the tuned damper floating rail fasteners(TDF) has no corrugation,and lower level of corrugation has no.Based on the test results and the TDF's structure,characteristic of wave the ideas of wave transmission in rail was proposed to study the mechanism of rail corrugation.
