Tribological Properties of PTFE and Graphite-MoS₂ Filled PTFE Composites

The friction and wear properties of PTFE and graphite-MoS₂filled PTFE composites were investigated by using a reciprocating friction and wear tester,and the frictional surfaces of these PTFE composites were examined under an optical microscope.Experimental results show that graphite-MoS₂reduces the friction coefficient and increases the wear resistance of PTFE because the graphite-MoS₂has the function of lubrication and prevents the separation of wear fragments from the PTFE.
