The Effect of Ten Years of Corrosion Control for the Steel Piles of East China Sea Bridge

  • The anti-corrosion technology of steel piles in the East China Sea Bridge has its particularity. Epoxy anticorrosive coating was painted in tidal zone, no anticorrosive coating were painted under water and mud section, but by high performance aluminum alloy sacrificial anode cathodic protection. The cathodic protection with design life of 33 years has been running for nearly 10 years. The corrosion control effect of the steel piles in the East China Sea Bridge was studied through the statistics of cathodic protection potential distribution of steel piles over 2007 to 2012, the system test of cathodic protection potential of steel piles in 2014 and analysis of the five year corrosion test Pieces.
